Egypt Project Reflections

In class we watch Egyptian videos and played Egyptian games and that is what helped me learn the most about Egypt because I am a visual learner (I like to see and do things visually). I would have liked to learn more about the gods that were important to the Egyptians. Specifically the food, plants/nature, land, and family gods, if they had those gods. At times my group was arguing about the script story or the script being to long, but eventually we worked it out by dividing the work up and thinking of solutions to make the play shorter. The solutions we came up with (to make the play shorter) was to talk faster. Over all, my groups work got done fast and split up equally. For the play project, group members just volunteered to help or do work and maybe some people wrote more than other but we all worked on the script in some way, so that went really well. For the Pharaoh Project, everyone got the same amount of squares to answer, so everyone got the same amount of work. I think if we got to redo the project all I would do is make the story the same but the script shorter because it was hard for the editor to edit the video. My project was successful and I know that because my group video went smoothly and we spoke clearly during the video.

Group Dynamics

In class we get to choose parts to help organize a play or skit, such as lead historian, director, video editor, script editor, and producer. I try to choose or get the role of the director. I like the director because I get to come up with ideas and talk a lot. Also I just love to direct people in the right direction, from  attitude to storyline. I always love to help others and myself feel good about their projects. When I am director I do talk a lot and take leadership of the group. I do not sit back and wait. I am always putting input, ideas, and direction into the skit or play to make it as good as 6th graders can make it. I love this role because I get to put many ideas into the skit or play, talk a lot, take leadership, and most of all I like to direct. When I am in a group working on a skit or play I do like to work with friends because I know that they will do nice work and not just mess around. Another thing that I like about working with friends is that I know they will appreciate me for how much effort I have put into the play or skit. Some bad things about working with friends is that if you have a situation that turns into an argument you could have a disagreement that becomes a problem between your friendship. To resolve conflicts in group situations I usually talk about it to my group and then divide the work up (between my group members) that we are struggling to finish. That usually works. If other people are talking and I am not getting the chance to talk or put my ideas into skit or play I use a louder voice and try to get there attention.

Wednesday Wars Blog Post #1

If I was getting threatened about having to buy my class cream puffs, I would do multiple things. One thing I would do is tell the the teacher what has happened and what I am afraid of. The good thing about telling the teacher is that she/he would hopefully give me some suggestions on how to deal with the situation and the bad thing about that is that possibly I could get picked on even more. The other thing I would do is to stand up for my self and say that I would not buy the class desert because they don't deserve it, if they started to argue with me I would just walk away and leave it at that. The bad thing about that is that they might still follow me to convince me to buy them cream puffs and the good thing is they might give up. After I have tried those things and they don't work I would have to pull some good pranks.
